Mall Of America Visitors To Write Letters To Vets
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — Visitors to the Mall of America can have the chance to write letters to members of the military in honor of Veteran's Day.
Thousands of letters expressing thanks and encouragement will be mailed to members of U.S. armed forces, veterans and military families — both at home and abroad.
The letter writing campaign is part of the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. In addition to writing letters, a memorial pond in the mall's Nordstrom Court will be filled with 500 red gerbera daisies. Mall guests can pay $1 to float a flower in the pond in memory of a loved one.
