Nobel Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai To Speak At Target Center
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Malala Yousafzai, a worldwide education advocate, author and Nobel Peace Prize winner, will make an appearance at the Target Center this summer.
Yousafzai will speak and take part in a Q&A with the audience on July 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban on her way home from school when she was only 15 years old. She was transported to England to receive medical care. Less than six months after she was shot, she had recovered and returned to school.
Since the shooting, Yousafzai has become an advocate for education, pushing for the right of every child to attend school.
In 2014, Yousafzai became the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She is also a bestselling author. Her book, "I Am Malala," was released in 2013.
