Lynx Waive Jacki Gemelos, Janessa Jeffery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx announced Wednesday they've waived Jacki Gemelos and Janeesa Jeffery as the squad trims is roster before the start of the regular season.
The move means the Lynx is currently at 12 players, needing to cut one more from the roster by 4 p.m. Thursday. WNBA league rules mandate that rosters have 11 players.
Gemelos was a third-round pick in last year's draft and played in just one preseason game and made her only shot attempt in 5 minutes, 35 seconds of play. Jeffery was taken in the second round of this year's WNBA Draft and played in both preseason games, scoring two points and grabbing four rebounds in more than 17 minutes of action.
The Minnesota Lynx, coming off a WNBA title two seasons ago and finishing a runner-up last season, start the regular season at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 1, against the Connecticut Sun.
