Maya Moore Named Western Conference Player Of The Month
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Maya Moore has helped lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 6-0 start, and the forward was named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Month on Thursday.
In six games in May, Moore averaged 22.3 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. She also shot 54.4 percent from the field and 87 percent from the free-throw line. Her season started with 27 points and 10 assists in the Lynx's home opener win over Phoenix on May 14.
It's her first award of the season and seventh of her career. It's also the 10th time a Lynx player has earned the award.
The Lynx host the Dallas Wings at 7 p.m. Saturday at Target Center.
