Lynx Ink Rebekkah Brunson To Long-Term Contract
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Lynx have signed All-Star forward Rebekkah Brunson to a multi-year contract extension.
The Lynx announced the deal Thursday. The terms weren't disclosed.
Brunson would have been a free agent after the season. The eight-year veteran is third in the WNBA with 9.3 rebounds per game. She's averaging 10.7 points per game while shooting a career-high 51.8 percent from the floor, a figure that ranks sixth in the league.
Brunson is in her second season with Minnesota after being acquired through a dispersal draft from the Sacramento Monarchs.
The Lynx lead the WNBA with a 24-6 record after winning 17 of their last 19 games, including six in a row. They can clinch home-court advantage for the playoffs by beating the New York Liberty on Friday.
