Lynx Get No. 3 Pick In WNBA Draft
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx, the recent champions of the WNBA, will pick third overall in the 2012 WNBA Draft as determined by Thursday's draft lottery.
The Lynx had a 27.6 percent chance to receive the No. 1 overall pick, but instead will choose behind the Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago. The Lynx will also pick 12th overall after earning the league's best regular season record, which was 27-7, on the way to the WNBA title.
Minnesota also has three second round choices in the draft. The last time the Lynx chose third, they selected Candice Wiggins, who averaged more than 15 points per game in her rookie season. The Lynx chose Maya Moore with their top pick this year, who went on to become the WNBA Rookie of the Year.
