Lynx G Augustus Wins Western Conference Honors
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Another Minnesota Lynx player has been honored as the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.
Guard Seimone Augustus took the honors after scoring a season- and game-high 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting to lead Minnesota over Phoenix 106-98 last week. The win moved the Lynx into first place in the Western Conference and gave them the WNBA's best record -- 10-4 -- heading into All-Star Weekend.
Augustus won the weekly honor for the fifth time in her career and the first time this season. Teammate Rebekkah Brunson has won the weekly honor twice this season and was Western Conference Player of the Month for June.
Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
