Lynx, Fever Ready For WNBA Finals Winner-Take-All Game 5
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Tamika Catchings and Lindsay Whalen have been butting heads in the playoffs for 10 years now, dating back to the 2005 Eastern Conference finals.
As the two proud veterans prepare for one more playoff game, they are appreciating the chance more than ever.
Catchings and the Indiana Fever visit Whalen's Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday night for the deciding Game 5 of the WNBA Finals. It's the first time the best-of-five series has gone the distance since 2009.
The 36-year-old Catchings has already said she will retire after next season. The 33-year-old Whalen has been slowed by leg injuries this season and may not have many more left.
Whalen is chasing her third title in the last five years. Catchings and the Fever are looking for their second.
