Lynx Are Hottest Tickets In Town
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Lynx are easily the most exciting team in town. For the first time ever, Minnesota is headed to the WNBA finals.
In a town where the only thing left to fight for on the baseball field is not losing 100 games and where second halves in football would be better left unplayed, finally there's a team that's figured out what it takes to win.
"These are the hottest tickets in town. The hottest! They are hotter than the Vikings right now," said Kathy Brooks, who has been to most home Lynx games this season.
The Lynx cooled the Phoenix Mercury Sunday to make it to the Finals. They start Sunday at Target Center. The team won't know until tomorrow who they'll face either Atlanta or Indiana.
When tickets went on sale this morning fans lined up to show their love, including Vince Mickus and Blaine Grant.
"They are the only team that's winning," Mickus said.
"It's good to see a winner. It's good to see the women, after 15 years, dominate," Grant said.
Brooks believes the ladies won't stop here; they'll win the finals. She hopes to see more about her team in a town that needs a reason to celebrate.
"They're our own team, they're Minnesota Lynx. We should have more coverage on them," Brooks said.
To accommodate the WNBA finals, anyone who has tickets to see Roger Daltrey at Target Center next Wednesday will instead have to see the show on Tuesday or get a refund.
