Lumberjack Days Could Get Axed From Stillwater
STILLWATER, Minn. (WCCO) -- Stillwater's popular summer festival, Lumberjack Days, is in jeopardy.
The city council voted to suspend the city's contract with Lumberjack Days.
Police are looking into debts owed by St. Croix Events, the company that operates Lumberjack Days.
Several businesses and non-profit groups weren't paid for this year's July event.
St. Croix Events said it will make good on all the debts, despite losing 70 percent of its revenue this past year because of flooding and storms.
The contract will remain suspended until the investigation into the debt is complete.
