Love Scores 16 In USA's Win Over Tunisia
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Team USA ran away from Tunisia in men's basketball pool play in the Olympics with a 110-63 victory to improve to 2-0 at the games.
The Americans outscored Tunisia 64-30 in the second half to pull away after leading by 13 points at the half. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love had a lot to do with the victory.
In 17 minutes of action, he finished tied for a team-high with 16 points. He shot 6-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, and added six rebounds. Love suffered a slight scare in the game, appearing to injure his knee in the second half.
He rested on the bench for a brief time before finishing the game an appeared to be fine. Many of the team's main stars didn't play extended minutes as the Americans were heavily favored against Tunisia.
Team USA is the only 2-0 team in its pool at the Olympics. They will face Nigeria (1-1) on Thursday.
