Love, Rubio Buy WNBA Finals Tickets For Lynx Fans
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Timberwolves stars Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio are the latest local sports figures to pick up the tab on Lynx playoff tickets.
Love and Rubio teamed to purchase 500 tickets for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals, given away for free to fans on a first-come, first-served basis over the phone on Monday morning.
Several Minnesota teams have participated in the playoff ticket giveaways over the last few seasons in support of the Lynx. Rubio watched them beat the Atlanta Dream 84-59 in Game 1 on Sunday night from a courtside seat. Game 2 is on Tuesday night.
The Lynx are pursuing their second championship in three years.
