Love Makes Victorious - And Boo-Filled - Return To Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota fans did not show much love to former Minnesota Timberwolves player Kevin Love Saturday night.
The former Timberwolves forward returned to the Target Center for the first time since switching to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Love was a standout player for six seasons in Minnesota before he left to play alongside LeBron James in Ohio.
Some fans had a hard time letting go, still sporting the number 42 jersey.
"Well, to be honest with you, I just really still love watching the guy play and all," longtime fan Shawn Flynn said. "It was really sad when he, you know, left the organization."
Several fans booed when Love took the court and some made signs with messages that asked, "Where is the Love?"
Love told reporters before the game it was a strange feeling being in Minnesota again.
"Going out there, you know, getting shots up on the opposite side I'm not accustomed to, visitor's bench, you know, it's going to be different," Love said.
LeBron and Love ended up beating the Wolves 106-90, with Love scoring 14 points and getting 17 rebounds.
The Timberwolves currently have the NBA's worst winning record.
