Looking For A Job? Rasmussen College Hosting Career Expo
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Whether you're just starting out or starting over, the job hunt can be brutal. From updating your skills, to networking and nailing that resume, it takes a lot to stand out.
Wednesday night, Rasmussen College in Brooklyn Park is hosting a career expo that will have several employers on hand. It's the place to be if you're on the job hunt. Some of the companies expected to be on hand include the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Target and Fairview Health, some of the top employers in the Twin Cities.
Everyone can have a good resume and know people, but how can you stand out? Here are some tips.
Experts say you'll want to show career skill set with your education level, make sure you can match your skill set to the job description of the position you're looking for. You'll also want to be "tech-savvy" with certain computer programs, and show that you can earn your way up once you get your foot in the door.
People coming to the career expo are encouraged to bring resumes, but it will be largely interactive with panel discussions and experts on hand to help with your LinkedIn profile.
The Rasmussen College Career Expo will be at the Brooklyn Park campus from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and at the time Thursday on the Eagan campus.
