Local Music Tap: 'Tom Selleck's Moustache' Joins Movember Movement

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Twin Cities' curiously (and awesomely?) named rock band, Tom Selleck's Moustache, is hoping to support the Movember movement by giving away its debut album, T-shirts and a chance for a free house concert in exchange for donations.

On Friday, men -- or Mo Bros -- all over the world will participate with a clean shave and letting it grow (many letting only the moustache grow) in an effort to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. There are over 1 million registered Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who have helped raise more than $147 million.

Now, Tom Sellek's Moustache (TSM) is getting involved, and plans to give away its debut album, Heartbreak 101, along with other merchandise.

"Tom Selleck's Moustache is natural to help rock the Movember cause and is happy to be involved," said Mischa Suemnig, TSM founder, singer, songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player. "We hope that anyone who hears about our effort will get in the spirit and help out, from every man, woman and child on the street or on the world wide web to the local, national and global media and anyone else everywhere else. After all, what would Tom/Magnum do?"

The public can give at three levels:

Level 1: $25 for one free TSM CD
Level 2: $50-$100 for one free TSM CD and a TSM T-shirt.
Level 3: $100 or more donation for entry into a drawing for a free acoustic house concert by TSM (limited to Minnesota donors only)

All donations can be made at this website or to the following address:

Tom Selleck's MOVEMBER Moustache
5832 Logan Ave. South
Minneapolis, Minn. 55419
