Local Music Tap: 'Sights & Sounds From Outerspace' @ UMD
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- This week -- well, today specifically -- the Local Music Tap is opening its ears (and eyes) to the stars. It's hardly what you'd call "local," but you'll see I have my reasons.
Tonight at 7:30 p.m., percussionist Gene Koshinski will perform a continuous 60-minute program of music accompanied by a planetarium show at University of Minnesota-Duluth's Marchsall W. Alworth Planetarium.
Epic local music accompanied by grand images of the Universe? Sounds amazing.
"Sights and Sounds From Outerspace", produced by a team at the planetarium, is part of the UMD Resident Artist Recital Series and will showcase the planetarium's 30-foot, 360-degree dome.
So, if you live in or near the Duluth area, tickets are free!
On top of being a percussionist, Koshinski is a composer and educator, serving as an associate professor of percussion at UMD. Check him out here.
