Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Weekend (Valentine's Day Edition)
Predictably enough, this weekend's events skew heavily toward Valentine's Day. But they're all great shows to check out -- from "Jazz in the Jungle" in Uptown to "The Love Show" in St. Paul.
Friday: Love Songs For Angry Men @ Dakota Jazz – Mpls.
Twin Cities-based Love Songs For Angry Men Trio – led by the gravely-voiced crooner Nick Hensley – are starting out Valentine's Day weekend with a return to the Dakota Jazz.
Lakewood Cemetery accompanies the bill. It all starts at 11 p.m. for $5.
SUNDAY: Love Show @ The O'Shaughnessy - St. Paul
And then it all begins. Valentine's Day. The first event of the day we'll mention is The Love Show, and I'll let the event description do some of the talking.

Kling's Cupid-teers include Dan Chouinard, Bradley Greenwald, Prudence Johnson, Simone Perrin, Claudia Schmidt, and Dane Stauffer.
The show starts at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $22 to $28
SUNDAY: 'This Funny Thing Called Love' @ Jungle Theater - Mpls.
Love will be in the air in the heart of Uptown at Jungle Theater! The event, fully entitled This Funny Thing Called Love: A Lighthearted Valentine will feature accomplished jazz vocalist Connie Evingson.
Accompanied by New York pianist Jon Weber, bassist Gordy Johnson and saxophonist Dave Karr, Evingson will perform humorous and romantic songs by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Dave Frishberg, the Beatles, Sting and others.
There are two performances – one at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY: Valentine's Day With Erik Koskinen @ Turf Club - St. Paul
This Sunday, grab an amazing Valentine's dinner for two that includes the following: one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert from a prix fixe menu), two concert tickets, and two reserved table seats.
Oh, and you get to hear the musical musings of local talent Erik Koskinen. It's a pretty good deal.
So, get in the V-Day spirit and, as Erik says, "bring your date or your lover or your mother."
General admission is $10 with reserved dinner seats costing $50.
