Lightning Strike Causes Fire, Destroys Maple Grove Home
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say a home in Maple Grove is a total loss after a fire early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to the scene on the 14000 block of 62nd Avenue North at about 7:40 a.m. on a report of a fire. Fire officials at the scene said the fire was likely caused by a lightning strike to the roof. Authorities said the roof of the home collapsed during the fire.
Officials said they were battling another fire in Maple Grove at the time, so it took them some time to switch locations and engage the blaze.
There are no reports of any injuries associated with the fire. Crews are still on the scene putting out hot spots.
