Lightning Likely To Blame For Maple Grove House Fire
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating what caused a house fire in Maple Grove Tuesday morning, but lightning is likely to blame after storms rolled through the metro.
Fire crews were called to the 18000 block of 63rd Place North at about 6 a.m. on a report of a house fire. A neighbor told authorities he saw lightning hit the home, and then a fire started at the residence about 30 minutes later. Authorities said two adults and a child were inside the home when the fire started and were already awake. All three were able to get out of the home without injury.
It's not yet clear the extent of the damage the home suffered in the blaze, but crews are remaining on scene to assist with clean-up efforts.
