Law School Dean To Lead Minn. Landslide Inquiry
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- St. Paul has hired a law school dean to lead an investigation into last month's landslide that killed two students on a field trip to a park.
Mayor Chris Coleman on Friday announced the hiring of Donald M. Lewis.
Lewis is co-founder of the Minneapolis law firm Nilan Johnson Lewis PA and dean of the Hamline University School of Law.
Lewis will oversee an independent review of the May 22 landslide at Lilydale Regional Park. A bluff at the riverside park collapsed, killing two students and injuring two others from Peter Hobart Elementary School in St. Louis Park.
The review begins Monday. Findings are expected within several weeks.
Meanwhile, a geo-technical engineering firm is seeing if it can determine the landslide's cause. Those finding are expected in a few weeks.
