Latest Poll Shows Gov. Walker's Support Slipping Away
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new poll from CBS News and the New York Times shows Gov. Scott Walker losing support in his bid for the Republican nomination for the 2016 presidential election.
In August, Walker had 10 percent among Republican primary voters saying they supported him for the nomination. In this new poll, which represents data collected from Sept. 9 through Sept. 13, Walker only netted 2 percent.
Jeb Bush also saw his numbers dwindling in September, with his 13 percent from August dropping to 6 percent in September. That puts him on an equal level with Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio.
Donald Trump remained at the head of the pack, gaining three percentage points to claim 27 percent.
But the candidate who made the biggest gains in the last month was Ben Carson, who went from 6 percent in August to 23 percent in September.
The poll was conducted by telephone among a random sample of 1,261 adults nationwide, including 1,021 registered voters.
