Last-Minute New Year's Eve Entertainment Ideas
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Don't have your plans set yet to ring in 2014? We've found some fun ways to celebrate the end of 2013 and a fresh start in 2014.
Here are some great events for all ages you can still drop in on today and tonight. Since 2014 is nearly upon us, here are some of the best ways to celebrate in the Twin Cities.
Como Zoo Countdown
If you have kids, how about a noon year's eve party at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids can celebrate the new year with the Radio Disney Road Crew and KidsDance.
They will have noise-makers, story time and a countdown to noon with a beach ball drop. Can't make it today? They'll do it all again tomorrow, same time same place. This is a free event.
Mall Of America Moonlight Circus
Another kid-friendly event goes down at Mall of America's Nickelodeon Universe tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight under the big top. It's called Moonlight Circus, where you can ride rides, play $1 midway games, see a tight-rope walker and of course, watch the ball drop.
The unlimited Ride Wristband is $30.99.
Skate At The Depot
Or you could take the family - or your date - ice skating. The Depot in Minneapolis has skating today from 10 a.m. until tomorrow at 1 a.m. It's fun, it's romantic and warm in the winter.
St Paul Winter Skate
If you're willing to brave the cold for some outdoor skating, head to Rice Park in St. Paul for Wells Fargo Winter Skate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Solid Gold At Icehouse Minneapolis
For the adults, local darlings Solid Gold will play with their full band at the Icehouse Minneapolis. Dinner starts at 5 p.m., but you can drop in just for the music at 10 p.m. for $20.
First Avenue Anniversary
If you want to dance, First Avenue takes the cake once again this year with multiple dance rooms and concerts all night. This party goes until 2 a.m.
And we want everyone to be safe on the roads tonight, so don't forget to arrange for a sober ride. Another option: Miller Lite is sponsoring all metro transit bus routes today from 6 p.m. until the end of regular service.
