Lane Restrictions Placed On St. Paul Bridge; Mayor Calls For Replacement
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman says a downtown bridge needs to be replaced as quickly as possible.
On Tuesday, the mayor and city council president announced lane restrictions on the Kellogg Boulevard-Third Street Bridge.
Starting Monday, traffic will only be allowed on the center lanes. City engineers say the bridge's outer lanes are not adequately designed to support traffic.
Coleman says the city will seek state and federal money to rebuild the bridge as soon as possible.
