Lakeville Teen's Song Pays Tribute To Boyfriend Killed In Crash
LAKEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Lakeville teenager's song is getting tens of thousands of plays and downloads. She posted it after her boyfriend was killed in a rollover crash before Christmas.
Johnny Price and Jake Flynn were star athletes at Lakeville South High School. They died after the truck they and two other students were in rolled over on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.
Elizabeth Barnes, a 17-year-old senior at Lakeville South, wrote the song called "Your Name" before the accident. She didn't write it about her boyfriend, Johnny Price. But messages on social media show many people see it as a tribute to the two young men and a way to remember them.

"He said just five more minutes I will be back in five minutes," Barnes said.
She has been overwhelmed by grief.
"Johnny had the biggest heart," Barnes said. "I lost myself, what is my life without his life."
Then just over two weeks ago she got news that "Your Name," a song she had recorded last summer, was finished. On SoundCloud alone it has gotten nearly 50,000 plays and has gotten air time on KDWB.
"People can listen to it and go oh that is who Johnny loved and that is who loved Johnny Price so much," Barnes said.
She struggles with how the accident happened. Johnny, Jake and the two other boys in the truck were playing the Nerf War game. The driver of the car was critically injured and is recovering, The other teen, the only one wearing a seatbelt, walked away.
"I feel like buckle up because you never know when five more minutes isn't five more minutes," Barnes said.
Since the accident, she has thrown herself into writing more songs for an album about Price.
"That is what I hope to do with the rest of my music, to talk about him and spread who he was and that way it keeps him alive and I am thankful people can see that," Barnes said.
The song Elizabeth wrote, "Your Name," is available on iTunes and other downloading sites. It's also available on streaming sites such as SoundCloud and Spotify.
