Lakeville North Baseball Does Spring Training In Florida
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WCCO) -- You have to do something about this weather, but what are your options?
For Lakeville North High School, you go south to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla.
With 80-degree temperatures, they work out - and this is a team that understands it is all about work.
They were in the state tournament a year ago, and making the team is a big deal.
It is here that 28 players play for 18 varsity spots. Drew Stewart is a sophomore vying for a spot, and he's already played plenty of varsity.
He was the starting quarterback on a state tournament football team, and he hit a three-pointer in the final seconds to help his basketball team win a state title two weeks ago.
That's the norm at Lakeville North: multi-sport athletes winning in all sports.
And down in Kissimmee, they begin a quest in baseball with time to do a little bit more.
