La Crosse Man Charged With Bomb Scare
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A La Crosse man is charged with threatening to blow up a federal office.
According to a La Crosse County criminal complaint, 48-year-old Paul Weber was pacing at the Internal Revenue Service in La Crosse at about 1 p.m. Wednesday. He allegedly demanded to speak to an agent or he would "blow this place up."
The complaint says he fled and went to U.S. Rep. Ron Kind's office and demanded to see Kind.
The La Crosse Tribune reports a staff member blocked Weber from Kind's office and pushed him out the door.
Weber allegedly told them "You're gonners," on his way out.
He was charged Thursday with felony bomb scares and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
A preliminary hearing is Wednesday. No defense attorney was listed in online court records.
