Kyle's Widow Cancels Interviews For 'American Sniper'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- In the wake of the growing controversy over her late husband's memoir, the widow of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle has decided to stay out of the limelight.
Taya Kyle has called off a number of interviews that were scheduled this week. They were supposed to be in support of the film adaptation of "American Sniper," which shocked Hollywood with its record-breaking $105 million opening weekend, and has been nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture.
Taya Kyle is still expected to speak at a special event at Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park next month. Tickets are still available.
Chris Kyle's role in killing a record number of people as a sniper in Iraq is causing controversy among some in Hollywood for its perceived pro-war message. Others say director Clint Eastwood's movie does not glorify war.
