Kraft Heinz Adds $100M Expansion, 50 Jobs To New Ulm Plant
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Kraft Heinz plant in New Ulm will be expanding.
The global food and beverage company announce it will be investing in a $100 million expansion to the southern Minnesota plant. As part of the expansion, 50 jobs will be added as well.
The expansion will include four new production lines and is expected to be completed by 2017.
The new positions will make an average starting wage of $22.16 per hour and include benefits.
"The Kraft Heinz food manufacturing plant has been an institution in New Ulm for more than 60 years," DEED Commissioner Shawntera Hardy said in a recent press release. "We're pleased that the company is making a major jobs and facilities investment that will improve their operation for years to come in the city."
DEED will be loaning $450,00 toward the project . The loan will be forgiven if hiring goals are met.
