Kohl's Pulls 'Ghetto Fab' Halloween Wigs
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- Kohl's Corp. is pulling a Halloween wig from its online mail order site and is apologizing to customers that found it offensive.
The curly wig called "ghetto fab" was part of Kohl's seasonal costume offerings. The wig generated complaints on Kohl's Facebook page this week by customers who were surprised the department store chain would carry such an item called "ghetto fab."
The Journal Sentinel reports Kohl's executive Vicki Shamion says the company is "embarrassed" and apologizes for the offensive nature of the merchandise description.
The department store chain, based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., operates 1,067 stores in 49 states.
