Klobuchar, Walz Fighting For Vets Wrongly Discharged
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Congressman Tim Walz are trying to help veterans who shouldn't have been discharged get benefits.
A recent study found more than 31,000 U.S. veterans may have been improperly discharged for personality and adjustment disorders.
Those veterans lose federal Veterans Administration benefits, even if they're suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Klobuchar and Walz have introduced legislation to restore those benefits and prevent future misdiagnoses.
