MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The public is invited to a memorial program Thursday night celebrating the life of the late Harmon Killebrew. The former Twins star will be remembered not only for his skill as a baseball player, but also as a person.
"I think the night will be a combination of laughter, fun, memories, extreme sadness and high emotion," said Twins spokesman Kevin Smith.

The program will feature former Twins players, videos, music and more.
Some former Twins greats will ride a light rail train from the Mall of America to Target Field after gathering at the site of the old Met Stadium near the mall. Killebrew played many games at the old Met Stadium, which no longer stands.
The memorial event is free to the public with Target Field gates opening at 6 p.m. and the program beginning at 7:10 p.m.
Killebrew died earlier this month at age 74 after a battle with cancer.
The Target Field program will be carried live on WCCO Radio.
