Kill Works Way Back In With Winning Gophers
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota coach Jerry Kill is working his way back into the job after taking a leave of absence to better manage his epilepsy.
He's not ready to return to the sideline. But he said confidently that he'll soon be seizure-free.
Kill returned to his regular Tuesday news conference for the first time in four weeks. Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys remains in charge of the strategic decisions during the game.
Kill will watch from above in the coaches' booth in the press box Saturday when Minnesota plays at Indiana, as he did the last two weeks, both wins for the Gophers. He said he's superstitious and doesn't want to change a system that seems to be working.
