Kevin Love To Represent Timberwolves At NBA Draft Lottery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday that forward Kevin Love will represent the team at the NBA Draft lottery next week.
The lottery will be held at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, May 21, in New York City. The Timberwolves are currently slotted to pick ninth overall in the first round and have a 1.7 percent chance to obtain the No. 1 pick in the draft.
They also have a two percent chance at the No. 2 pick and a 2.4 percent chance at the No. 3 pick. The Timberwolves have a total of four picks at the NBA Draft. They also have the 26th pick in the first round, the 51st pick and the 59 pick, both of which are second round selections.
Love, who has been with the Timberwolves for four seasons, missed most of last season with a broken hand that eventually required surgery. He played just 18 games as the Timberwolves finished the season 31-51.
After the season was over, owner Glen Taylor fired David Kahn, who had been the president of basketball operations. He was replaced by former coach Flip Saunders, who also now has a minority stake in the franchise.
The NBA Draft will take place at 6 p.m. on June 27 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. It will be televised nationally on ESPN.
