Ken Martin Re-Elected Chairman Of Minnesota DFL Party
MONTICELLO, Minn. (AP) — Ken Martin has been re-elected to a third two-year term as chairman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
The vote was unanimous at the party central committee meeting in Monticello on Saturday.
Martin's re-election comes three months after a largely successful off-year election for Minnesota Democrats, who kept the governor's office, a U.S. Senate seat and won two crucial U.S. House races on a day when Republicans made big gains across the country. However, the DFL lost control of the state House.
A longtime political operative, Martin was elected DFL chairman in 2011 after a bad year for Democrats. Since then, the party has enjoyed a substantial fundraising edge over Republicans.
