Katy Perry Postpones Saturday's Xcel Show
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- The "Fireworks" will have to wait while Katy Perry recovers from a bout of food poisoning.
The pop star's Xcel Energy Center concert scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed to August 23.
According to Xcel's website, the food poisoning led to severe dehydration, forcing Perry to cancel both Saturday's show in St. Paul as well as a show scheduled for tonight at Chicago's Allstate Arena.
"I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend," Perry said in a statement, "but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!"
This marks the second time in the last few months that illness has postponed a major pop diva's planned performance in the Twin Cities.
Earlier this summer, Adele had to cancel a performance at First Avenue. That concert has been rescheduled for August 24 and relocated to the Xcel Energy Center, the day after Perry's rescheduled performance there.
