'Just 4 You Parents' Winner A Mother And Teacher
BUFFALO, Minn. (WCCO) -- Each week, WCCO This Morning is rewarding a hard-working, dedicated parent who loves what they do.
Holly Wagner went to Buffalo, Minn. to surprise this week's winner, who, when she isn't caring for her own children, is caring for the children of others.
Nancy Jenson is a mother of four as well as a preschool teacher.
When we told her she was this week's honoree, she held it together, but as soon as we told her about the loving emails her own children sent in about how hard she works, she was overwhelmed.
"That's sweet, it makes the cry," she said.
Nancy and her husband Tim have been married 24 years. He says she has a lot on her shoulders because he travels for work all of the time.
"She's kind of the glue that keeps us together at home," he said. "There's a lot of things she has to do with getting kids to sporting events and school events."
When she isn't at home taking care of her kids, she's teaching 3- and 4-year-olds at Little Buffalo Preschool. She's been at it for 9 years now.
Jenson says she wishes she would have dressed up a little more for the occasion.
"Thanks a lot guys you should have at least told me to fix my hair nice or something," she laughed.
But her children weren't too worried about her hair. They just wanted her to know how much they appreciate what she does every day.
"If there is a definition of a 'Super Mom,' that would be her," said one of her children.
"I don't think she realizes how much we appreciate her, but she needs to know," said another.
