Jury Convicts New Hope Man In Domestic Murder
NEW HOPE, Minn. (WCCO) -- On Tuesday morning a jury convicted Douglas Carl Manney in the killing of his girlfriend, Kristeen Sandeen, in their New Hope apartment last year.
Manney, 51, was convicted of second-degree unintentional murder by the jury, which had deliberated for about five hours.
Manney will be sentenced on Dec. 5 by Hennepin County District Court Judge Marilyn Kaman. Guidelines call for 150 months in prison, but allows for 180 months, and that's what prosecutors will request.
Sandeen, 40, was found to have died from strangulation.
