Childhood Role Models
My son's hero is Stephen Curry.
I understand he is a basketball god, but I warned my 10-year-old about looking up to sports figures.
I don't think they make for very good role models as some of them get into trouble and make bad choices.
My son's defense was good.
"Mom, Steph doesn't get into trouble, he's married and his wife and kids come to the games and they're so cute," he said. "Also, he doesn't get arrested or do drugs or shoot people."
He's right. I pray that continues.
Curry now takes up a lot of real estate in my son's room. My little guy hopes he'll continue to play well on the court, I pray he'll continue to be good off it.
