Jack Morris Not Voted Into Baseball Hall Of Fame
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Former Minnesota Twins pitcher Jack Morris won't be going into the Major League Baseball Hall of fame, at least not this year.
Officials announced Wednesday afternoon that none of the players on the ballot earned enough percentage of the vote from baseball writers to earn an induction. Players must receive at least 75 percent of the votes to get in.
This was Morris's 14th year on the ballot, and he has only one more year to get voted in or he won't go to the Hall of Fame. Morris received 67.7 percent of the vote this year after getting 66.7 percent last year. He'll have competition next year with Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux on the ballot for the first time. Morris helped pitch the Twins to the 1991 World Series title, including a 10-inning shutout in Game 7.
The leading vote getter was long-time infielder Craig Biggio, who earned 68.2 percent of the vote.
