Jack-Knifed Semi Closes I-94 Near Alexandria
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say Interstate 94 from Alexandria to Fergus Falls has reopened in both directions after closing earlier Friday morning due to jackknifed semis blocking traffic.
The Minnesota State Patrol says about a 50-mile portion of the interstate was closed while crews cleared the interstate of the mess, which came as a result of freezing rain early Friday morning.
Though the road has been reopened, authorities say driving conditions are still difficult in the area due to the wintry conditions.
Motorists who are out are urged to slow down, keep a safe distance back from the vehicle in front of you and keep your eyes on the road at all times.
Interstate 94 was closed for several hours.
