It's Official: Target Field Hosting 2014 All-Star Game
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins will be the home of the 2014 All-Star Game, making it the third time the Twin Cities has hosted the event.
MLB Commissioner Bud Selig made the announcement Wednesday afternoon at Target Field alongside Twins' owner Jim Pohlad, Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak and others.
The 85th Midsummer Classic will be will be July 15, 2014.
Metropolitan Stadium hosted the 1965 All-Star Game.
This was Tony Oliva's second All-Star Game, alongside the likes of Roberto Clemente and Willie Mays.
"It was an exciting moment, to be in your hometown," he said.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome staged the 56th All-Star Game in 1985.
