Grand Rapids Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison In Heroin Bust
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 20-year-old Grand Rapids man was sentenced to more than eight years in prison Monday in connection with a heroin bust in Itasca County earlier this year.
As recommended by the prosecutor, the court sentenced Joshua Morgan Hunter to 103 months in prison and 10 years supervised probation in connection with the crime.
According to the criminal complaint, Hunter and two other men were arrested in March 2016 after officers stopped their vehicle and seized about 130 grams of heroin from the trunk. The arrest was the result of a continuing investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Hunter previously pleaded guilty to one count of first degree conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime. The other two defendants will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney under federal law.
