Interstate 35E, Hwy. 169 To Close Overnight
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Motorists should expect delays as not one but two major highways are planned to close overnight.
Southbound Highway 169 at Bren Road in Minnetonka will close at 10 p.m. Monday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Tuesday. While northbound 169 will close at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Thursday.
Motorists will be directed to use the ramps at Bren Road to get around the closures starting at about 8 p.m.
During the Highway 169 closures, crews will set beams for the new Bren Road Bridge.
Interstate 35E in Eagan will also be closed Monday, as crews work to place bridge beams for the new I-35E/Duckwood Drive interchange.
Southbound I-35E will be reduced to one lane between Lone Oak Road and Diffley Road from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, including the ramp from Pilot Knob Road to I-35E south.
Then from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, southbound I-35E will be fully closed. A detour will direct traffic to go south on Pilot Knob Road and west on Diffley Road to I-35E.
Also on Wednesday, northbound I-35E will be down to one lane between Diffley Road and Pilot Knob Road from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. All lanes of northbound I-35E will then close from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
At that time, a detour route will take motorists around the work zone via ramps between I-35E and Pilot Knob Road.
