10 Involved In Carver Co. Crash; Woman, 2 Kids Seriously Injured
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Ten people were involved in a multi-car crash early Tuesday evening in Carver County, which seriously injured a woman and two small children.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at about 4:28 p.m. on Highway 5 and Orchard Road, west of Waconia.
A Honda Accord was travelling westbound on Hwy 5 when it rear-ended a Chrysler Town and County SUV, which then struck a Toyota RAV4.
The Honda ended up in the eastbound lane and was stuck head-on by a Pontiac Bonneville.
All three passengers in the Honda -- 31-year-old Dena Briath, 7-year-old Nathaniel Briath and 4-year-old Abigal Briath -- were seriously injured. All three are from Hamburg.
The two passengers in the Pontiac -- 21-year-old Tayler Doliber and 44-year-old Tanya Murphy -- suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both are from Waconia.
No one was injured in the Town and Country. The driver of that vehicle was 16-year-old boy. A 69-year-old woman and two other teens were his passengers.
The other five people involved were not injured.
The state patrol says the highway re-opened to traffic just after 8 p.m.
