Initial Suspect In St. Paul Stabbing Released
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The man arrested in connection with a fatal St. Paul stabbing earlier this week has been set free after authorities did not find probable cause to charge him within 48 hours of the crime.
Thirty-eight-year-old Tim Davin Dortch, of St. Paul, was released at 1 a.m. Friday, according to authorities. Officers arrested him Wednesday after 25-year-old Desmond Deshawn Harper suffered fatal stab wounds that morning.
A judge did not find probable cause to charge Dortch and the attorney's office did not ask for an extension.
The stabbing, which happened after three people got into an argument on a bus, is still under investigation.
