Indian Burial Mounds Added To Historic Places Register
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Six Indian burial mounds have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Indian Mounds Park is the only remaining burial mound within the Twin Cities.
The area along the Mississippi River is at least 2,000 years old, and has been protected by state law for nearly 40 years.
The new designation could make it easier for the state to get federal money to improve the park.
