Increased Security At MSP After Moscow Airport Bombing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There is added security and police presence at Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport following a suspected terrorist bombing at Moscow's busiest airport.
Melissa Scovronski, a spokesperson for the airport, said they're increasing the number of uniformed personnel at both terminals.
"This is a precautionary measure," said Scovronski.

They are focusing efforts at curb side check ins and the perimeter of the airport, but say this is not in response to any local threat.
Airport officials say the move is being made even though there has been no special request from federal authorities and the color-coded threat level remains at ORANGE.
Scovronski said the extra patrols include uniformed officers and plainclothes officers.
She said the deadly explosion in Russia has not had any impact on travel here where we do not have flights going to or from Moscow.
A spokeswoman for Moscow's busiest airport said 35 people have been killed by an explosion in its international arrivals hall.
