ID Police Take Cash, Drugs In Arrest Of Minn. Man
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- A Minnesota man is being held in county jail in northern Idaho on drug and money laundering charges.
The Kootenai County Sheriff deputies say 64-year-old Conrad Petersen of Lyle, Minn., was arrested Tuesday after marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $71,000 cash were seized from his vehicle during a traffic stop.
The Coeur d'Alene Press reports deputies stopped Petersen on Interstate 90 near the small town of Cataldo because he was driving unsafely and without license plates.
Petersen told officers he was on his way to Seattle to buy a motor home. Police say he was visibly shaking during the stop and marijuana could be smelled in the car.
In a police report, deputies suggested Petersen was planning or already involved in growing marijuana.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
