'I Do' Surprise For Friends At Twins Game
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you've gone to a game at Target Field, you may have seen a wedding proposal up on the big screen. But on Sunday, a bride and groom went one better and pulled off a big surprise.
Rodger and Deb invited 30 of their closest friends and family to watch the Twins' game from the comfort of an executive suite.
What their guests didn't know is they were about to witness the couple's nuptials.
Wearing "Bride" and "Groom" Twins jerseys, Rodger and Deb said their vows at the bottom of the second inning. These die-hard Twins' fans say they couldn't think of a better way to begin their new life together.
"Well, we let (our friends) think that Deb won one suite at work for just being a great employee and then after that we just started inviting friends and family 'til we filled it up, and off we went," said Rodger. "And when they showed up, we waited until the first inning to surprise them with the whole thing."
The baseball wedding was actually Deb's idea. And it makes sense because their first date was a Minnesota Twins game at the Metrodome.
