I-94 Closure Planned For Minneapolis This Weekend
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There will be plenty of delays and headaches if you're planning to travel on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis this weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Tuesday that eastbound I-94 will be closed between I-35W and Highway 280 starting at 10 p.m. Friday. Ramps to and from eastbound I-94 in the construction area will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Friday.
There will be access to southbound Interstate 35W, but eastbound I-94 traffic will be down to one lane before the Lowry tunnel, and motorists should expect delays. Detours will be posted advising motorists to use northbound I-35W, eastbound Highway 36 and southbound I-35E to access eastbound I-94.
MnDOT says all roadways and ramps will be available for traffic again by 5 a.m. Monday.
